4th Trevor Brentnall Memorial Golf day
For the fourth year running, the Trevor Brentnall Memorial Golf day raised funds for us, this year making £2,600. This brings the total that Trevor's family and friends have raised to over £12,000, a really fantastic amount. Enormous thanks go to Trevor's wife Mary and daughter Pip, who organise these events, for the wonderful support they give the Sussex Cancer Fund.

Simon Pepper - London 10k run Sunday 6th July
"Early in 2007, I was diagnosed with Lymphoma. After a course of chemotherapy and then radiotherapy, the cancer was brought under control and I am now feeling well again. I would like to say how caring all the staff were in both chemotherapy and radiotherapy departments. Thank you. Sue Pepper"
Simon's mum has been successfully treated for cancer at the Sussex Cancer Centre. By way of thanks to all those who cared for and supported her over this time, Simon decided to find a way to raise some money for the Fund. He entered into the London 10k run, and is despite a recurring calf injury which has limited training, Simon still got round in one piece. Well done Simon.

Charity Paintball Event
As the weather got more spring-like, folks at Chapel Studios, a co-working and desk space creatvie studio in Hove, were looking for something to get them out of the office and into the sunshine. Ralf Fletcher, who founded Chapel Studios, remembered the fun he had playing paintball at Holmbush Paintball fields. He also remembered the fantastic treatment and positive outcome he had received in early 2008, thanks to the skill, dedication and facilities of the Sussex Cancer Centre, and decided to try and give something back. As a result, on the afternoon of Sunday 20th April 2008, he hosted paintball games open to all (age 16+). A large proportion of the players game fee was given to the fund, along with donations on the day.
Details on the total raised to follow...
Paris Marathon
Unfortunately, one of Stephen Green's friends was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and had treatment at the Sussex Cancer Centre. Stephen felt that he wanted to help in some way to enable the centre to continue its excellent treatment and facilities. With this in mind, he (foolishly?) entered the Paris Marathon. This took place on April 6th 2008. His 18 week training module began in December and he hopes that people will give generously for such a great cause… as well as laughing at Stephen's expense for entering for such a gruelling challenge.
