Patient Lounge and Garden (1993)

The construction of the new entrance provided the opportunity for construction of a new and attractive patient’s lounge and WRVS staffed “coffee bar”. The Limbury Trust funded a very unusual wall sculpture which provided visual distraction. The small courtyard garden was one of the very few green areas in the hospital site and appreciated by patients and staff.

2nd refurbishment (2005/06)

We have nearly completed the design of an improved and enlarged patients lounge to accommodate our increasing services within the centre.  This will also greatly improve access to the garden.  At the same time the appearance and ambience of the entrance, reception area and clinic corridor will be improved.  The approximate cost of £200,000 has been approved by the charity as the scheme will greatly improve the patients experience in the Cancer Centre.  We hope to complete by mid 2006.
