Telephone Headsets to Help Run Efficient Phone Clinics

equipment provided by local cancer charity
Claire McCabe, Senior Staff Nurse

The Sussex Cancer Fund through kind donations from patients have just bought two telephone headsets for Cancer Staff in Sussex.

The Covid Pandemic has led to the cancer units adopting different procedures to help keep treatment and appointments running while maintaining maximum safety, one of these changes is the increase of telephone appointments.

The headsets have made telephone clinics much easier by allowing staff to keep their hands-free whilst talking to patients, checking appointments and documenting information, which makes the clinics run much more smoothly.  The headsets also promote better posture and helps to prevent staff from developing neck pain whilst on the telephone all day.

The headsets have proved to me very beneficial and have been suggested to other cancer departments also running telephone clinics in Sussex.
