Christmas Quiz Night at Cru Eastbourne – 11th December 2018
On 11th December, Cru Wine Bar in Eastbourne is hosting a Christmas Quiz Night to raise money for the Sussex Cancer Fund, sponsored by local companies Whitespace and Firm Balls.
The event will begin at 7pm and continue until late, with a wide selection of drinks and delicious tapas available throughout the night, and 10% off all drinks.
There is also a great list of raffle prizes up for grabs during the night, with a first prize of 2 wine tasting tickets!
Entrants are allowed to enter teams of either 4 or 6, with tickets costing £10 each – if you would like to enter a team, please contact milly@whitespace.studio.
Medieval Banquet in aid of the Sussex Cancer Fund – Saturday 2nd March 2019
Join us for a Medieval Banquet courtesy of the very generous Mayo Wynne & Baxter. This Medieval themed dining experience is an exclusive event as you and another 300 guests will be transported back in time. The night will start with a drinks reception, tankards of ale and goblets of wine before you are called to be seated at the long banqueting tables in the ‘Kings Hall’. Here you will be able to help yourself to the big feast. During the banquet, guests will be entertained by minstrels, jesters and potentially an occasional sword fight! Guests are encouraged to dress in medieval fashion and an amazing prize awaits the best-dressed couple on the night. All proceeds raised on the night will go to Sussex Cancer Fund.

Charitable Giving – A Seminar for Solicitors – TBC

In conjunction with Charlie Owen, Taylorcocks Accountants & Richard Dyson, retired solicitor and Sussex Cancer Fund Trustee, we are delighted to bring you a seminar for solicitors wishing to get a better understanding about charitable giving and what it means for their clients.
Charlie advises high net worth individuals on inheritance tax and estate planning as well as clients in the SME sector on all aspects of tax planning and compliance. He has been working in the tax profession for over 20 years.
Richard has many years experience in the legal sector and has been a long-term Trustee of the charity.
From this seminar you will be more confidently able to advise your clients on charitable giving. A light breakfast will be served and there will be an opportunity to network with other delegates on the day. For more details please follow the booking link.
Morning Melodies with Marcus Martin – Wednesday 26th September 2018
Now in its 17th year, Morning Melodies has raised over £55.000 for a varied selection of local and national charities. We are lucky enough to have been chosen for their event on 26th September.
Morning Concerts take place in various locations but our event is being held at Emmanuel United Reformed Church in Worthing, there is no admission charge and all donations without any deductions go towards the nominated charity. There is also a 60 minute CD which can be sold in aid of the charity.
This regular morning event on the musical calendar was devised by Worthing born Musician Marcus Martin, with the
intention to present an hour of light classical and popular music, combined with a cup of coffee, make no charge for admission but ask for donations at the end on behalf of various charities. In recognition of this and his other contributions to Music and charities in Worthing over a period in excess of 25 years, Marcus was invited to attend the May 2012 Jubilee Buckingham Palace Garden Party hosted by her Majesty the Queen.
Mid Sussex Business Expo – Thursday 27th September 2018
In September, Net XP will be holding their third business exhibition of 2018, which will take place from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the South of England Showground in Ardingly. With 100+ exhibitors, expected to be sold out by August, this free-to-attend event will feature a golfing theme on the day, with enticing competitions and interactive prizes to engage both exhibitors and visitors.
Sussex Cancer Fund are lucky enough to be exhibiting so why not come along and talk to us about using your CSR policy to help boost your business and the different ways we work with businesses in Sussex including our Business Ambassador Programme.
Volunteer Afternoon – Monday 24th September 2018
Following the success of last year’s volunteer event, Sussex Cancer Fund are holding another event for all our valued volunteers. We rely on your help and support so much and would like the opportunity to thank you.
As well as a thank you from us, you will have the opportunity to hear the latest news from the charity, find out how your fundraising has helped and get the opportunity to meet other volunteers.
If you are not one of our volunteers at the moment but would like to be, you are very welcome to attend and see how you can help.The event is free to our volunteers but if you would like to contribute to the event we have made donation tickets available too.
Lara Squires’ Charity Challenge -Part 1 New Forest Half Marathon – Sunday 9th September
Well done to Consortium’s Lara Squires for completing part 1 of her Half Iron Women challenge. Lara Squires Director at Consortium Business Solutions, a Marketing agency based in Sussex took part in the New Forest Half Marathon, raising money for Sussex Cancer Fund. Lara’s complete challenge includes the Half Marathon, A London to Brighton Bike Ride and 1.3 mile swim.
First Part completed in a respectable 2h 19 min and the 543rd woman home. If the challenge wasn’t already enough, it was also Lara’s first ever night in a tent! Well done Lara for roughing it for such a great cause!

Pro-Am Doubles Tennis Event – Wednesday 1st August
The Big Match – British Tennis Vs The Big C!
We are delighted to present the Big Match Tennis Fundraiser in Brighton on August 1st. The Pro-Am Doubles Event at Preston Lawn Tennis Club, will also be hosting a charity auction including prizes donated from Jamie Murray and Marcus Willis on the day. We will also have appearances from Andrew Castle and Wimbledon Doubles Champion Jonny Marray amongst others. Kindly organised by Barry Fulcher a former cancer patient and tennis enthusiast.
The charity auction takes place at 7.30 at Preston Lawn Tennis Club and boasts some amazing once in a lifetime lots details of which can be found here
Afternoon Tea at The Grand, Brighton – Wednesday 4th July 2018
Sussex Cancer Fund invites you to have Afternoon Tea at the fabulous Grand Hotel in Brighton.
Listed by The Independent in 2015 as “one of the top 14 Afternoon Teas in the UK”, the Grand Afternoon Tea’s menu is designed by Executive Chef, Alan White.
You will be invited to indulge in freshly made sandwiches, pastries, scones and cakes, as well as some delicious surprising treats bespoke to The Grand’s famous tea, at a discounted rate, to support the charity.
This will be a wonderful afternoon and there will be opportunities to hear more about the charity’s work and mingle with the other guests.

#LoveCake charity bake-off – June 2018
Join our charity bake-off this June and see what treats you can cook-up for your colleagues. Our #Lovecake campaign is a bake-off style competition that you can hold in your work place. You pick the date in June and get all your team involved baking cakes which can then be raffled or sold raising funds for the Sussex Cancer Fund. If you would like to get involved let us know, and we will send you a printable poster to be displayed in your offices or staff room and a set of certificates you can present to your lucky winners.

Charity Quiz Night
– Consortium Business Solutions – 24th May 2018
Our friends at Consortium Business Solutions are holding a charity Quiz night at the Egremont Bar in Worthing. What better way to catch up with friends over a drink than by challenging your grey matter whilst supporting the Sussex Cancer Fund?
Quiz Master, Alex Bond from FinPro Analytics, will be testing your collective knowledge on a wide range of topics, so why not gather your friends or work colleagues and see if you can beat the other teams! There will even be a prize for the winning team!
The Quiz Night will be in aid of the Sussex Cancer Fund and all proceeds will be going to our efforts in improving facilities and services for cancer sufferers throughout Sussex.
The Egremont Bar is a great venue with a wide selection of drinks and food available on the night. The event will take place on Thursday 24th May, doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. Teams will need to be made up of 4 people and a team name entered before the Quiz.

Where Cricket Meets…..Ladies Day – 4th May 2018
