Office Administrator, Part Time Volunteer – with possible option of Part-Time Paid Position

The Sussex Cancer Fund has never been needed more and as now 1 in 2 of us are expected to receive cancer treatment in our lifetimes that need will continue to grow. So we are looking for individuals that can help support and grow the charity in line with our strategy which includes strengthening our administration processes.

 

The Position:- Office Administrator, Part Time Volunteer – with the possible option of Part-Time Paid Position 

 We are now looking to appoint an Office Administrator who will provide high-quality administrative support to the existing team, offering a positive experience for donors and fund raisers, and managing communications with individuals. The role will at first would be on a voluntary basis but with the possibility/option for this to evolve into a part-time paid role.

Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for providing administrative support to project-work, taking full ownership of delegated tasks and responsibilities.

 

Who We Are:-

 The Sussex Cancer Fund (SCF) is a local charity based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. We work together with the NHS to help make life better for cancer patients in Sussex – providing equipment and services that make a tangible difference for patients who are often on a difficult and stressful journey. We also selectively fund and enable Sussex based cancer research programs that contribute to the understanding of cancers and improved outcomes for patients. We are only a small organisation with two part-time employees and need support from a volunteer with the possibility to transfer into a part-time paid position.

  

What will I be doing?

 The Office Administrator would be asked to support the Finance and Marketing Admin team in various office administration duties at their office in Brighton, based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.

Some of your daily tasks among other things will include:

·         Producing monthly reports

·         Filing hard and electronic information

·         Sending and producing Thank You’s and follow up’s

·         Handling general enquiries

·         Progress and chase quarterly reports

·         Assist with event organising and lease with volunteers

·         Dealing with Gift Aid paperwork

·         Organising and preparation of sales items

·         updating notice boards and promotional information

·         You’re a good communicator with an eye for detail

·         You know your way around typical Microsoft Office tools like Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel

 

What experience do I need?

 Some of your skills/experience may include:

·         Experienced in an Administrative or Reception capacity.

·         Confidence to be front of house and work without instruction.

·         Happy to multitask and take on various different duties.

·         Financial administration experience is a benefit but not essential.

·         Previous charity experience would be a benefit but again not essential
