South East Coast Ambulance Service running in Hastings Half Marathon!

A big thank you to Steve Barker and his team at South East Coast Ambulance Service are running as a team to raise money for the Sussex Cancer Fund.

Their friend and colleague Caroline has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumour. Caroline is a strong and determined member of the Ambulance Family. Therefore, this has inspired them to raise money for our charity, Sussex Cancer Fund who help Caroline and many others in the same position as her.

They have now vowed to take part in the Hastings Half Marathon, renowned as one of the toughest in the country!

Different groups of the team will be carrying out the run-in unique ways; some will run to set a time, some will be running pushing an ambulance stretcher, and some will walk, but all have the common goal of finishing the gruelling course raising as much money as possible.

The Hastings Half Marathon is run under UK Athletic Rules. The course consists of circulating the Ancient Town of Hastings, starting at the Seafront and following the route of William the Conqueror towards Battle, round the back of the Town and down to the Famous ‘Old Town’ and fishing Village of Hastings, then comes back along the three-mile Seafront back to where they started.

So please support Steve and his team at South East Coast Ambulance Service, donate through their JustGiving page here!
