Supporting Teens and Children With Grief

Frances Rush – Palliative Care Support Worker

The Sussex Cancer Fund was happy once again, to provide support for the Palliative Care Team through the purchasing of a selection of books all designed and written for children and Teens.

The 20 books cover a range of topics including grief and dealing with a parent with a cancer diagnosis. These topics can be particularly challenging for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other special needs, so it was important for the team to get resources that would be suitable for all.

This is another reminder that cancer affects more than just patients and in particular their children. These resources will help parents and children with difficult conversations and managing grief.
