Open-house Fundraiser to Celebrate Mum’s Last Chemo Session.

Rachel McCauley

We were delighted to welcome Rachel McCauley and her parents Ruth and Tim Bolton for a double celebration. Last weekend Rachel held an open-house fundraiser for the Sussex Cancer Fund and today they delivered the proceeds to us but this was an especially significant day, as today was also the last chemo treatment for Mum Ruth.

Ruth has been undergoing treatment at the Sussex Cancer Centre for Triple Negative Breast Cancer and they wanted to mark the end of chemo with a get together for friends and family while raising money for the charity. Unfortunately Ruth’s treatment had to be postponed by a week but the open house went ahead as planned.

The open house saw between 40 and 50 people visit and refreshment was by way of a beautiful feast with the family and guests all contributing.

Rachel said “If every family connected to Sussex Cancer Centre could do something small, it would make a huge difference, making a positive contribution out of a negative situation. “

Rachel’s event raised £438 for the Sussex Cancer Fund.

Thank you Rachel, Rachel’s husband Andrew, Ruth & Tim and all your guests for helping the Sussex Cancer Fund, with help like this we can make a real difference.
