A stimulating day at the PROMS (patient reported outcome measures) conference in Birmingham. Great discussion of how to improve our measurement of the outcomes which matter to patients and how to increase involvement of patients and the public in shaping research strategy. Both areas close to the heart of why & how the SCF funds research.

2 projects supported by the SCF were presented as posters: Ishpal Moonga, Cressida Lorimer & Juliet Brock presented quality of life in longer-term survivors with malignant brain tumours and Sally Appleyard & Duncan Gilbert presented work about the barriers to electronic questionnaire completion at home – which won the prize for best PhD poster at the conference.
